What is IBO?
IBO is an internationally recognized program focused on a high-quality curriculum that aims to encourage critical thinking by the study of traditional disciplines while encouraging an international perspective. The program was designed for the academically-able student who can function across the curriculum and who has learned to manage time well.
Why enroll?
IBO has an international acceptability that allows for both flexibility and mobility. It educates the "whole person." The program encourages students to appreciate cultures and attitudes other than their own and to be informed, tolerant and willing to communicate with others. The IBO approach to education is not encyclopedic, but emphasizes helping students to learn how to learn and how to analyze. The program provides a broad general education, while still allowing specialized study in areas corresponding to the individual's particular interests and plans for the future.
IBO Mission Statement
Through comprehensive and balanced curricula and coupled with challenging assessments, the International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop the individual talents of young people and teach them to relate the experiences of the classroom to the realities of the world outside. Beyond intellectual rigor and high academic standards, strong emphasis is placed on the ideas of international understanding and responsible citizenship, t the end that IB students may become critical and compassionate thinkers, lifelong learners and informed participants in local and world affairs, conscious of the shared humanity that binds all people together while respecting the variety of cultures and attitudes that makes for the richness of life.
