2014 HSSD Distinquished Educator Awards

The Hot Springs School District's individual campus nominees for the 2015 Teacher of the Year were recognized at the annual Awards and Recognition Breakfast held May 29 at Hot Springs High School.  Don Gooch, Community Bank President of Arvest Bank, was in attendance to honor the nominees and announce the recipient.  Local businesses, including Belle of Hot Springs, Bubba's Catfish, Car Wash USA, Carmike Cinema, Chicken Express, Chick-fil-A, Great American Cookies, Jimmy John's, Jose's, Papa Murphy's Pirate's Cove, San Francisco Bread Company, Sparkle, Subway, Wal-mart on Central Avenue, Zoe's, Arlington, Mid-America Museum, Mr. Whiskers, Purple Cow, and Hot Springs Technology Institute provided each nominate teacher assorted gifts as congratulations. 

The nominated teachers and respective campuses were Row 1:  Stephanie Goodman, HSIS.  Row 2:  Chelsie Sturdivant, HSMS; Laura Angel, Gardner.  Row 3:  Terri Knapick, Summit/Vista; Debbie Hrvatin, HSHS; Clarice (Nikki) Anderson, Langston; Gail Bean, Oaklawn; and Marissa Burton, Park. 

Utilizing an external panel of judges, Stephanie Goodman was selected to represent the Hot Springs School District as a candidate for the 2015 Arkansas State Teacher of the Year.
