Goodman Announced as a Top 4 Finalist!

Stephanie Goodman, a Hot Springs Intermediate School math teacher was recognized by Governor Asa Hutchison and Arkansas Department of Education Commissioner Johnny Key as one of the top 15 Regional Arkansas Teacher of the Year (ATOY) Finalists on September 17 at the Old Supreme Court room of the Capitol.  The recognition event also served as the spring board for announcing the top four semifinalists for the coveted title of the 2016 Arkansas Teacher of the Year.  An ATOY Selection Committee consisting of educators and the 2014 Arkansas Teacher of the Year, Ouida Newton selected Mrs. Goodman as one of the four state finalists based on the review of her application. The panel interviewed each semifinalist, their principal and/or superintendent, as well as conducted site visits for classroom observations before recommending a top candidate to Commissioner Key.

Congratulations, Mrs. Stephanie Goodman, Hot Springs School District and Hot Springs Intermediate School are proud of you and your selection as a top four semifinalist.
