Trojan '15 Football Season In the Books!

The HSHS Trojans closed out the 2015 season on November 6 defeating crosstown 5A South rival Lakeside by a score of 17-15 at Joe C. Reese Memorial Stadium. After starting the season with high hopes of capturing a second consecutive conference title, the Trojans sustained multiple injuries to key players resulting in a 3-4 record, three of those loses after being ahead entering the fourth quarters.  The Trojans can take some consolation in the fact as explained in the quote from the Sentinel Record's sports reporter Sean Saunders, "... while Hot Springs stays home with bragging rights as city champions"; this after defeating both Lake Hamilton and Lakeside during the 2015 season. The Trojan win prevented Lakeside from going undefeated in conference play and knocked the Rams out of sole first place into a co-championship with Hope.  By virtue of a win over Hope, however, the Rams maintain the top seed from the conference heading into the state playoffs.

Retiring HSSD Superintendent Mrs. Joyce Littleton Craft joined the team captains at mid-field during the pre-game activities and was bestowed the honor of flipping the coin. She was also recognized and presented a plaque in an additional pre-game event for her dedication of 43 years to the Hot Springs School District.

The kick-off to the exciting game witnessed the release of multi-colored balloons purchased through donations to the Trojan's Tireless Teachers Relay For Life team's fundraising efforts.
